Indonesia\u2019s Research, Technology and Higher Education Minister announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theaustralian.com.au\/higher-education\/international-students\/indonesia-opens-door-to-foreign-partner-universities\/news-story\/32400231c07d14f59fdeeb3fa91ff02d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">foreign universities would be able to operate<\/a> in partnership with local private universities.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>In the news<\/b><\/h2>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australia and Indonesia have signed <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbs.com.au\/news\/australia-indonesia-sign-maritime-deal\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a new maritime plan of action<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with a focus on combating drug trafficking, people smuggling and counter-terrorism.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President Joko Widodo thinks Australia becoming <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rappler.com\/world\/regions\/asia-pacific\/indonesia\/bahasa\/englishedition\/198310-indonesia-wants-australia-full-asean-member\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a full member of ASEAN<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is \u201ca good idea\u201d, with a bigger regional role in defense, trade and security matters.
