However, it was not a good result for incumbents in general with 5 of the 7 who contested the elections <a href=\"http:\/\/australiaindonesiacentre.org\/indonesia-regional-elections-2018-performers-up-scions-and-coat-tailers-down\/?utm_source=AIC+Media+Update&amp;utm_campaign=9379a63e2c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_07_04_05_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_1639681d6e-9379a63e2c-459043661&amp;mc_cid=9379a63e2c&amp;mc_eid=5d69e6fbf3\">failing to be re-elected.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>While the Indo-Pacific is slowly replacing Asia-Pacific as the dominant economic and security paradigm, it remains subject to numerous security challenges. Enhancing the Indo-Australis strategic triangle, comprised of Australia, India and Indonesia is seen as the first step in overcoming the area\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/indonesiaatmelbourne.unimelb.edu.au\/time-for-an-indo-australis\/\">numerous security challenges<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Jokowi officially <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejakartapost.com\/news\/2018\/07\/02\/jokowi-inaugurates-first-indonesian-wind-farm-in-sulawesi.html?utm_source=AIC+Media+Update&amp;utm_campaign=9379a63e2c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_07_04_05_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_1639681d6e-9379a63e2c-459043661&amp;mc_cid=9379a63e2c&amp;mc_eid=5d69e6fbf3\">inaugurated Indonesia&#8217;s first wind farm<\/a>, located in South Sulawesi. With similar projects in West Java and East Kalimantan currently in development, its suggested to mark the beginning of Indonesia&#8217;s embrace of renewable energy.<\/li>\n<li>Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Education and Culture have recently instituted a new regulation regarding admittance of students. Prospective students of <a href=\"http:\/\/australiaindonesiacentre.org\/indonesian-media-in-brief-school-zoning-regulations-for-educational-equity\/?utm_source=AIC+Media+Update&amp;utm_campaign=86708477d4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_06_29_05_54&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_1639681d6e-86708477d4-459043661\">public schools will now be admitted based on a zone system<\/a>, defined by proximity of a household to a school.<\/li>\n<li>ANU researcher Dr Ross Tapsell met <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newmandala.org\/interview-ridwan-kamil\/%20%20http:\/www.newmandala.org\/shariah-dakwah-rock-n-roll-pemuda-hijrah-bandung\/\">Bandung mayor Ridwan Kamil the day after his victory<\/a> in the West Java gubernatorial election. He answered some questions for the New Mandela readership about \u2018black campaigns\u2019, the religious vote, and even running for president.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>On the blog<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Recently, new archaeological findings have revealed the lives of early Aboriginal Australians as early as <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/buried-tools-and-pigments-tell-a-new-history-of-humans-in-australia-for-65-000-years-81021\">65,000 years ago<\/a>. But how was it even possible for people to get to Australia in the first place?
