Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the interactive-geo-maps domain was triggered too early. Establish a Chapter – Australia-Indonesia Youth Association

Establish a Chapter

AIYA has Chapters in all states and territories across Australia and in five provinces in Indonesia which means there are 29 Indonesian provinces without an AIYA Chapter.

If you are based in one of these provinces and would like to establish an AIYA Chapter, here is the process:

  1. To establish a new Chapter, there must be a minimum of three (3) members on the founding committee, of which two (2) must be Chapter Executives (Chapter President, Vice President, Secretary).

    • These three founding members must be paid AIYA members at the time of application, must have intentions to stay within the Chapter team for at least 12 months.
  2. The founding committee are asked to create a proposal outlining:

    • Why the province is a suitable location for an AIYA Chapter
    • What types of events could be hosted
    • How regular events are expected to be held
    • Provide an estimated budget for proposed events
    • List the types of potential partner organisations AIYA might be able to work with in the province
    • Acknowledge that the Chapter agrees to abide by AIYA policies and processes
    • Any other supporting information
  3. The proposal should be formatted to be no less than two pages but no more than ten and be sent to operations@aiya.org.au

Note: Before submitting a proposal we ask that you and your team consider the time commitment required to establish and run a Chapter. Volunteering at AIYA can be extremely fulfilling but it can also be time consuming.

The National Operations team will only consider serious applications and has the discretion to decline proposals that do not satisfy the requirements of the team.

For inspiration here is an example of a previous Chapter proposal, please note the personal details of those on the founding committee has been redacted.
