The 8th Australia-Indonesia Ministerial Council Meeting on Law and Security (MCM) occurred on 23 December, co-chaired by Australian Minister for Home Affairs Karen Andrews and Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mohammad Mahfud MD. Minister Andrews said Australia and Indonesia enjoyed an excellent relationship and were strong partners on law enforcement and security matters.

  • Talking Indonesia: universities and international research collaboration.Both the Indonesian government and universities have sought to increase the international outlook of the sector in recent years, for example, through proposals to increase the number of foreign staff working in Indonesian universities, and by tying pay and promotion to international publications.
