Australia and Indonesia have finalised negotiations on an upgraded defence agreement which the federal government is hailing as the “most significant” pact the two countries have ever signed. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made the announcement after sitting down with Indonesia’s Defence Minister and incoming president Prabowo Subianto in Canberra. The agreement is expected to facilitate more ambitious joint military exercised between the two countries. (ABC)

- Indonesia’s Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Transportation Ministry and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) established cooperation to prevent transboundary marine pollution due to oil spills. The cooperation between both nations was carried out by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the Prevention and Handling of Transboundary Marine Pollution. - Australia and Indonesia formalised a landmark Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) this month, enhancing trade efficiency by recognising each other’s accredited businesses under the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) model. Both countries will agree to treat each other’s accredited businesses as low-risk and grant them preferential treatment at the border. (InDaily)
- Mining giant BHP is reportedly in discussions with the Indonesian government about the southeast Asian nation’s sprawling nickel industry as it shutters its own vast nickel operations in WA. BHP is known to be interested in Indonesia’s abundant and prospective nickel potential. (News.com.au)

The club organises games throughout the year, mostly in Jakarta, with occasional games across Indonesia and overseas. Tours are planned to Bali, Batam, Vietnam and Thailand this year. Training is mostly held at Lapangan Bola Aldiron in Jakarta on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. On occasion, training sessions are also held Thursday nights in the GBK complex.
