- Environmentalists in Indonesia are making a renewed call for Australia to stop exporting waste for recycling. Indonesia has become one of the top export destinations for the world’s recovered waste. The country has banned waste with more than 2% of impurities, such as unwanted plastic, which is often dumped in local villages and burned.(SBS News)

- As Indonesia is projected to become the 4th or 5th largest economy in the next decade, it makes sense for Australia to strengthen its ties with Indonesia. Yet, since 2012, funding for language learning in Australia has been cut, leading to fewer students and even fewer future teachers to teach Bahasa Indonesia. This creates a cycle in which Australia, at the policy level, has fallen short in recognising the importance of learning more about Indonesia. The club organises games throughout the year, mostly in Jakarta, with occasional games across Indonesia and overseas. Tours are planned to Bali, Batam, Vietnam and Thailand this year. Training is mostly held at Lapangan Bola Aldiron in Jakarta on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. On occasion, training sessions are also held Thursday nights in the GBK complex.
