AIYA’s Women Empowerment Committee

After the success of the Kumpul committee, AIYA established the Women’s Empowerment Committee in 2021 to celebrate and facilitate gender equality in the Australia-Indonesia relationship.

AIYA recognises that the role of women in Indonesia and Australia is integral to a successfully functioning society, and is essential in the bilateral relationship. In order for AIYA to continue its mission to connect, inform and inspire youth in Australia and Indonesia, AIYA aims to empower women by recognising previous accomplishments, celebrating current work and facilitating the next generation of women leaders in the bilateral space.

The AIYA Women’s Empowerment Committee will aim to:

  • connect women in both Australia and Indonesia with women leaders in their fields;

  • inform AIYA’s audience about the diverse range of talented women in the bilateral relationship; and

  • inspire the next generation of women leaders in the Australia-Indonesia space.
