The Australia-Indonesia Youth Association (AIYA) NSW Chapter will be launched this evening by His Excellency Mr Nadjib Riphat Kesoema, the Indonesian Ambassador to Australia, and a delegation from the Indonesian Embassy and Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney.

The launch event will also include Indonesian dance performances from Australian based Indonesian dance group Suara Indonesia Dance, and keynote speeches by Bernard Lane from The Australian and Lydia Santoso from the Australia Indonesia Business Council.

Nicholas Mark, the AIYA NSW Chapter President, said that “the AIYA NSW launch event is exciting because it marks the official start to AIYA’s presence in NSW, but it also showcases the diverse ways in which the people of NSW already are engaged and connected with Indonesia, including in business and the arts.”

The NSW Chapter launch will be held at the University of Sydney Law School Foyer from 6:00pm on 17 May 2013.

AIYA is a youth-led not for profit organisation which aims to improve the Australia Indonesia relationship by better connecting young Indonesians and Australians to each other and to opportunities to work or study in Indonesia and Australia.

AIYA holds a number of activities including young professional networking events, social and cultural events, language exchanges and recruiting activities for business and governments searching for Indonesia-literate staff. AIYA has established chapters in every state and territory in Australia, as well as in Jakarta, Indonesia.
