The beach is one of the crowded tourist attractions visited when weekends and holidays come. In addition to beauty, the beach can also be used as a place to exercise such as beach volleyball, diving, skating, water play arena etc. Oetune Beach is one of the beaches in Indonesia. Its exact location is about 70 km south of the town of Soe which is in the area of South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Although this beach is often visited by tourists, it is still clean and well-maintained.
The time needed to get to this place from Kupang, using a motorbike is about 2.5 hours. The access from Kupang to Oetune Beach has made it easier to access by roads between regencies where the conditions are asphalted. Access road to this beach is quite diverse. Starting from a large alley to get to this beach, you have to pass a slightly damaged and dusty road. This is due to road conditions that are often passed by large vehicles with large loads, but this is only about a few kilometers. Furthermore, you will pass the paved road to the destination. Lush forests, small hills and acres of rice fields will spoil your eyes all the way to Oetune beach.
A large gate that stands firmly with the words ‘Welcome to Oetune Tourism Park in South Central Timor Regency’ will be ready to welcome you. Oetune Beach is one of the southern beaches, besides Kolbano beach which is located approximately 18 km from Oetune beach. The local government in charge of managing this beach, built Lopo which is a typical house of the Timor region which has been modified with the addition of a knee-high wall formed in a circle that functions as a seat. There are several lopos built in this place.
Surely this lopo makes it easy for visitors to rest or just relax while looking at the beach from a distance. You can feel the thrill of stepping on the sand even when you are around the lopo, even though the sea water is still a few meters ahead. Really this beach is very abundant sand.
Palm trees and palm leaves also decorate the view on this beach. The beach with big waves and fresh breeze will be a complement to this place. You will find dunes that have formed naturally along the coast.
Young coconut water will be a fresh treat at this tourist spot. For those of you who want to visit this place it is advisable to bring lunch or own food. This is because, there is no place to eat or snack stalls around this tourist spot. Of course, if you don’t want to go back to the city center just to buy food.
Oetune Beach Tourist Attractions are visited by the public every year, both from within and outside the country. Of course the more visits there are, the more income will be for the area itself. Therefore, it is hoped that these tourist attractions can be managed correctly and appropriately will be an extraordinary asset for the Province of East Nusa Tenggara, especially the Regency of South Central Timor.
