  • The Australian National University’s Indonesia Project, with support from ANU Department of Political and Social Change is helding the ‘Indonesia Update conference’ on 13 – 14 Sep at Coombs Lecture Theater.   • Australian Geoscience Council, the Indonesian Geoparks Network and the University of Sydney is hosting GeoFest 2024 at the University of Sydney from 18-19 July.   • Monash University Indonesia Inspire Doctoral Scholarship Program (IIDSP) is pleased to announce the opening of the June 2024 scholarship round. This program offers an incredible opportunity for talented students to pursue their PhD studies with Monash University, Indonesia. The scholarships cover PhD tuition fees, project-related costs, and provide an annual living stipend of AUD $10,632. Take a look the detail here and apply by 30 June.
  • ANU Visiting Fellows Program 2024-25 is now open from 1 May until 30 June 2024. The program provides support for a period of 4 weeks. The program aims to assist Indonesian academics with a PhD or equivalent, to visit Australia for scholarly work. Explore the details here and submit your application before 30 June.
  • Murdoch University is proudly offering the PhD Scholarship to an international scholar of exceptional talent to undertake doctoral research that will contribute to further strengthening the links between Australia and Indonesia and to building peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. It will be hosted by the Indo-Pacific Research Centre (IPRC) and must align with their research priorities. Submit your application here by 31 July. 
  • Macquarie University is now open scholarship opportunities for all eligible students from ASEAN countries who commence their studies in 2024 and 2025. Special for chosen early acceptance scholarships will be valued at AUD $10,000 per year for the duration of your Bachelor’s or Master’s coursework degree (AUD $5,000 will be credited each session).   • Submissions for the 9th ReelOzInd! Australia Indonesia Short Film Festival is open! The theme for the 2024 competition is KEBERAGAMAN/DIVERSITY. Submissions open in FilmFreeway here and close on 2 August. Short films should be a maximum of 10 minutes, with $15,000 in prizes to be won across categories including Best Short Film, Best Fiction, Best Documentary and Best Young Filmmaker.

  • The Jakarta Bintangs is an Australian Football Club with membership open to anyone, beginners are most welcome. The club organises games throughout the year, mostly in Jakarta, with occasional games across Indonesia and overseas. Tours are planned to Bali, Batam, Vietnam and Thailand this year. Training is mostly held at Lapangan Bola Aldiron in Jakarta on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. On occasion, training sessions are also held Thursday nights in the GBK complex.
