  • The Bali bomb maker is set to be freed from prison days after being granted early release as the 20th anniversary of the attack nears. The explosives that ripped through the Sari Club and Paddy’s Irish Bar in 2002 killed 202 people, including 88 Australians. (Sydney Morning Herald)
  • Hundreds of culturally significant artefacts from an historic Asian shipwreck that were offered for sale online before being seized under Australian legislation have been returned to the Indonesian Government. (AFP)

  • Indonesian art collective Taring Padi made headlines around the world last month. The collective’s 8×10 metre banner, “People’s Justice” (2002), on display as part of the prestigious art exhibition documenta 15 in Kassel, Germany, was dramatically covered and subsequently taken down.
